Both Working Load Limit columns are published by the manufacturer for this part — neither is calculated by us. The 4:1 figure is the rating of record; the 5:1 column is the manufacturer’s lower rating for applications that require that design factor. Pound and metric figures are both as published — neither is converted from the other. Lowercase t is the metric tonne (1,000 kg / 2,204.62 lb), the manufacturer’s own notation — not the US short ton. Size is the manufacturer’s nominal trade size and does not change between unit views — this part is ordered and stamped by that size in every market; the millimetre figure beside it is the equivalent, not a different size.
The Crosby S-265 forged link is a weld-on forged link and bracket that provides a permanent lifting/anchor point on structures and equipment. Quenched and tempered with excellent welding qualities, it is widely used on farm machinery, trucks, steel-hulled marine vessels, and material handling equipment.

Inspection & Safety
Before every use: visual check for cracks, corrosion, distortion, wear, and illegible markings. Annually (minimum): documented periodic inspection by a trained inspector. Remove from service at first sign of damage. Never repair rigging hardware by welding, heating, or bending.
WARNING: Improper use of rigging can cause death or serious injury. Never exceed the rated Working Load Limit. Apply derating for side-loading, elevated temperature, or chemical exposure. Final application decisions must be made by a Qualified Person per OSHA 1926.32(m).
