Why You'd Buy This & How You'd Use It
The Green Pin® UXLE is the Grade 10 swivel-eye self-locking hook for the heaviest duty sling and chain assemblies. Positive self-lock engages under load and cannot open even if the latch spring fails.
Three features that matter:
- Positive self-lock. Latch engages mechanically under load; cannot open even with spring failure.
- Swivel eye (SE). Rotates freely under no-load for sling orientation. Not load-carrying swivel.
- Grade 10 alloy. 25% higher WLL than Grade 8 at same chain size.
Use it for: Grade 10 chain slings · overhead gantry/crane rigging · heavy industrial lifts requiring positive lock.
Don't use for: Side-loading >45° · load-side rotation (use thrust-bearing swivel) · ROV (use P-6740).

Inspection & Safety
Before every use: visual check for cracks, corrosion, distortion, wear, and illegible markings. Annually (minimum): documented periodic inspection by a trained inspector. Remove from service at first sign of damage. Never repair rigging hardware by welding, heating, or bending.
WARNING: Improper use of rigging can cause death or serious injury. Never exceed the rated Working Load Limit. Apply derating for side-loading, elevated temperature, or chemical exposure. Final application decisions must be made by a Qualified Person per OSHA 1926.32(m).
