Why You'd Buy This & How You'd Use It
The Green Pin® UMP is a Grade 10 pear-shaped master link — the tapered narrower end fits a crane hook, the wider bottom end accepts multi-leg chain slings. Used as the top attachment point for 3-leg and 4-leg chain slings.
Three features that matter:
- Pear / teardrop shape. Narrower top fits most crane hooks; wider bottom accepts multiple sling legs without crowding.
- Grade 10 alloy. 25% higher WLL than Grade 8 at the same link dimensions.
- EN 1677-4 compliant. European standard for chain sling master links.
Use it for: Top-end connection on 3-leg and 4-leg Grade 10 chain slings.
Don't use for: Single-leg or 2-leg chain slings (use oblong UMS master link).

Inspection & Safety
Before every use: visual check for cracks, corrosion, distortion, wear, and illegible markings. Annually (minimum): documented periodic inspection by a trained inspector. Remove from service at first sign of damage. Never repair rigging hardware by welding, heating, or bending.
WARNING: Improper use of rigging can cause death or serious injury. Never exceed the rated Working Load Limit. Apply derating for side-loading, elevated temperature, or chemical exposure. Final application decisions must be made by a Qualified Person per OSHA 1926.32(m).
