Made to order — 3 to 5 week lead time
Extreema® sling protection is manufactured to order by Lift-Tex and is not held in stock. Plan on 3–5 weeks from order to shipment.
The Extreema® EXCP Corner Protector is a Dyneema® pad that sits between the sling and the edge of the load. Unlike a sleeve, which travels with the sling and guards the sling body, EXCP guards the edge or corner of the load itself as well as the sling passing over it, spreading the bearing area so a hard edge cannot bite into either one.
Dyneema® (HMPE) gives the pad very high cut and abrasion resistance at low weight, so a rigger can place and reposition it by hand rather than wrestling a heavy pad into position.
EXCP is supplied as a finished pad, sold per piece at a fixed length. Each size is a set width, length and thickness — select the size that fully covers the contact area where the sling crosses the edge. The Size selector uses Lift-Tex's own part numbers, in which the first number is the pad width in millimetres and the second is the pad length.
Fitment — corner protector size by sling
Pick the pad whose width covers the full bearing width of the sling where it crosses the edge. Where a sling is wider than the pad, step up a size or use two pads side by side.

Eye & Eye RoundUp® (EER) slings use the same body as the matching endless size, so EER{n} takes the same corner protector as ENR{n}. EER is listed in EER1 through EER8; above that, use the ENR row.
10 in and 12 in webbing falls outside Lift-Tex's published EXCP range. Ask us and we will quote a corner protector for it.
Note the SuperTechlon® ST-ENR-30K: it calls for the 135 mm pad rather than the 115 mm one. It carries more capacity per unit of body size than a comparable European polyester round sling, so a capacity-based lookup understates its girth.
ENR11, ENR12 and ENR13 are quoted to order and are not stocked as web listings.
Corner protectors are protection only. They carry no working load limit of their own and do not change the rating of the sling or hardware used with them.
Safety & Standards
Every product we carry is individually marked with Working Load Limit (WLL), manufacturer traceability code, and country of origin. Inspection and mill certificates are available on request — email sales@slingcenter.com with your order number.
Governing Standards
- ASME B30.9 — slings (web, round, wire rope, chain) inspection and use
- ASME B30.26 — rigging hardware (shackles, eye bolts, links, turnbuckles)
- ASME B30.10 — hooks
- OSHA 1910.184 and 1926.251 — general industry and construction sling safety
- WSTDA WS-2 and RS-1 — web and round sling design
- 49 CFR 393.102 to 393.130 — DOT cargo tie-down
- NACM — welded steel chain grade specs
Inspection & Safety
Before every use: visual check for cracks, corrosion, distortion, wear, and illegible markings. Annually (minimum): documented periodic inspection by a trained inspector. Remove from service at first sign of damage. Never repair rigging hardware by welding, heating, or bending.
WARNING: Improper use of rigging can cause death or serious injury. Never exceed the rated Working Load Limit. Apply derating for side-loading, elevated temperature, or chemical exposure. Final application decisions must be made by a Qualified Person per OSHA 1926.32(m).
