AMH X5-Series SubSea (X5SL) — Sub-Sea Lever Chain Hoist
The X5SL is AMH's SubSea version of the X5 ratchet lever hoist — built for submerged and offshore use. Final assembly and load test in the U.S.A. Ultimate strength is 5× the Working Load Limit, meeting ASME HST-3 Appendix A for marine and U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) applications, and IMCA D028 (UK sub-sea lever hoist standard). Dual rated 3/4 to 10 US ton (3/4 to 9 metric ton).
- Capacity range: 3/4 – 10 US ton (3/4 – 9 t) — dual rated
- Load chain: Precision hoist load chain, strength of G100, made in Japan or EU
- Ultimate strength 5× WLL; brake sets and operates without minimum preload
- SubSea design — brake enclosed in a gasket-sealed area with bolted-in stainless dual springs and pawls; fitted with an adjustable chain stop for underwater codes
- Weston-style self-adjusting mechanical load brake — double pawls, asbestos-free discs; fused disc cannot crack, shatter or absorb moisture
- 100% inspection and hook replacement via bolted hook blocks
- Ambient temperature range –40°F to +140°F (–40°C to +60°C); extensive corrosion-resistant coatings, finishes and materials
- Standards: ASME HST-3 Appendix A (marine/DOD), IMCA D028 (sub-sea)
- Any chain length available
Standard lifts: 5, 10, 15 and 20 ft (custom lifts available). Shipping weight ≈ hanging weight (W) + ~15%. Order by descriptive model number, e.g. X5SL07056-05 (Model-Lift).

Inspection & Safety
Before every use: visual check for cracks, corrosion, distortion, wear, and illegible markings. Annually (minimum): documented periodic inspection by a trained inspector. Remove from service at first sign of damage. Never repair rigging hardware by welding, heating, or bending.
WARNING: Improper use of rigging can cause death or serious injury. Never exceed the rated Working Load Limit. Apply derating for side-loading, elevated temperature, or chemical exposure. Final application decisions must be made by a Qualified Person per OSHA 1926.32(m).
