AMH X5-Series — Lever Chain Hoist (Ratchet Lever Hoist)
The X5-Series (X5L) is AMH's heavy-duty ratchet lever hoist with a Grade 100 load chain (made in Japan or EU) and ultimate strength of 5× the Working Load Limit — meeting ASME HST-3 Appendix A for marine and U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) applications. Final assembly and load test in the U.S.A. Capacities from 3/4 to 10 US ton (up to ~9 metric ton).
- Capacity range: 3/4 – 10 US ton (dual/multi-rated)
- Load chain: Precision Grade 100 (G100) chain, made in Japan or EU
- Ultimate strength 5× WLL — meets ASME HST-3 Appendix A (marine / DOD)
- Brake sets and operates without minimum preload
- Weston-style self-adjusting mechanical load brake — double pawls, asbestos-free discs, enclosed; fused disc won't crack, shatter or absorb moisture
- Bolted hook blocks permit 100% inspection and hook replacement
- Ambient temperature range: −40°F to +140°F (−40°C to +60°C)
- Options: V = Overload Protection (one-way slip clutch); L = Self-Locking Hooks (top & bottom, avail. 1-1/8, 1-3/4 & 3-1/2 t); S = Shipyard hooks (avail. 1-3/4 & 3-1/2 t); Top Hook Extender Kit; any chain length
- Origin: Final assembly & load test in the U.S.A.

Inspection & Safety
Before every use: visual check for cracks, corrosion, distortion, wear, and illegible markings. Annually (minimum): documented periodic inspection by a trained inspector. Remove from service at first sign of damage. Never repair rigging hardware by welding, heating, or bending.
WARNING: Improper use of rigging can cause death or serious injury. Never exceed the rated Working Load Limit. Apply derating for side-loading, elevated temperature, or chemical exposure. Final application decisions must be made by a Qualified Person per OSHA 1926.32(m).
