AMH MA-Series — Manual Hand Chain Hoist

The MA-Series is AMH's premium hand (manual) chain hoist, assembled and tested in the U.S.A. with premium USA-made precision load chain (strength of G80 chain). Available from 1/2 ton to 30 metric ton capacity, it delivers smooth, low-effort lifting with a self-adjusting Weston-style mechanical load brake for positive load control.

  • Capacity range: 1/2 t – 30 t (1,100 – 66,000 lb WLL)
  • Load chain: Premium USA-made precision hoist load chain (strength of G80)
  • Brake: Weston-style self-adjusting mechanical load brake, double pawls, asbestos-free discs, enclosed against contamination
  • Construction: All-steel, powder-coated finish with plated frame components for corrosion resistance
  • Hook blocks are bolted allowing complete hook inspection; double roller guide ensures load-chain tracking
  • Optional overload protection: one-directional clutch that slips only in the lift direction
  • Optional self-locking hooks (top & bottom)
  • Standards: ASME/ANSI B30.16, OSHA, NASA-STD-8719.9; ATEX rated II 3 GD c IIB 54°C X for limited use in hazardous environments
  • Origin: Assembled and tested in the U.S.A.

Standard lifts: 10, 15 and 20 ft (custom lifts and drops available). Hand-chain drop is 2 ft less than lift. Shipping weight ≈ hanging weight (W) + ~15%.

Order by descriptive model number, e.g. MA050-20-18UVL (Model-Lift-Drop-Options). Options: V = Overload Protection; L = Self-Locking Hook (top & bottom).

Inspection & Safety

Before every use: visual check for cracks, corrosion, distortion, wear, and illegible markings. Annually (minimum): documented periodic inspection by a trained inspector. Remove from service at first sign of damage. Never repair rigging hardware by welding, heating, or bending.

WARNING: Improper use of rigging can cause death or serious injury. Never exceed the rated Working Load Limit. Apply derating for side-loading, elevated temperature, or chemical exposure. Final application decisions must be made by a Qualified Person per OSHA 1926.32(m).
