AMH CB-Series — Badger Hand Chain Hoist
The Badger CB-Series is AMH's low-headroom, lightweight hand chain hoist in a formed-steel enclosure, available from 1/2 ton to 10 metric ton. Standard zinc-plated load chain with the strength of G80 chain. Each hoist is proof-tested to a minimum of 1.25× WLL and ships with an individualized certification of test.
- Capacity range: 1/2 t – 10 t (1,100 – 22,000 lb WLL)
- Low headroom, lightweight formed-steel enclosure — quickly disassembled for fast maintenance; powder-coated and plated finishes for corrosion resistance
- Precision load chain with the strength of G80 chain (standard zinc-plated)
- Weston-style self-adjusting mechanical load brake — double pawls, asbestos-free discs, enclosed
- Drop-forged alloy hooks with heavy-duty cast-steel safety latch; top hook articulates for straight-line loading
- Hand-chain opening formed with a radius — operate from the side or above; lifting or pulling
- Proof tested to min. 1.25× WLL; serialized nameplate + certification of test; manual in English, French and Spanish
- Standards: ASME B30.16, OSHA, NASA-STD-8719.9
- Option: V = Overload Protection set at approx. 175% WLL
Available unchained or with lifts of 10, 20 and 30 ft. Hand-chain drop is 2 ft less than lift. Shipping weight ≈ hanging weight (W) + ~20%. Order by descriptive model number, e.g. CB030-20-18ZV (Model-Lift-Drop-Options: Z = zinc-plated chain (standard), V = overload protection).

Inspection & Safety
Before every use: visual check for cracks, corrosion, distortion, wear, and illegible markings. Annually (minimum): documented periodic inspection by a trained inspector. Remove from service at first sign of damage. Never repair rigging hardware by welding, heating, or bending.
WARNING: Improper use of rigging can cause death or serious injury. Never exceed the rated Working Load Limit. Apply derating for side-loading, elevated temperature, or chemical exposure. Final application decisions must be made by a Qualified Person per OSHA 1926.32(m).
